Joseph Avendano

Joe Avendano begins his first season as Strength and Conditioning Coach at Christian Brothers University.  Avendano joins the Bucs after serving the past two years as the graduate assistant in strength and conditioning at Central Washington University in Ellensburg, Washington.

While at Central Washington, Avendano served as the head Strength and Conditioning Coach for baseball, softball, women’s rugby, track and field and cross country while assisting with football, volleyball, men’s and women’s basketball and men’s rugby.

Prior to his time at Central Washington, he was an intern at Sports Academy Sports Performance in Thousand Oaks, California.  He assisted in the development of high school, college and NFL athletes.  He worked with biomechanical assessments, recovery modalities, mindset development, nutritional counseling and the integration of sports medicine.

Avendano has a master’s degree in Sport and Athletic Administration from Central Washington and a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from Washington State University. The Arlington, Texas, native is a NSCA certified strength and conditioning specialist.
